Abstract:

Objective To investigate the in vitro antifungal activity of sertaconazole against the clinical strains of Candida spp.isolated from China. Methods Minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of sertaconazole against 112 strains were tested by using CLSI (Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute)broth microdilution method M27-A3.Results The overall geometric mean 24 h MIC of sertaconazole was 0.18 μg/mL with a MIC range of ≤0.03~16 μg/mL,MIC50 and MIC90 of sertaconazole were 0.125 μg/mL,1 μg/mL,respectively.In the same time, the geometric mean MIC was 0.080 μg/mL for C.albicans,0.158 μg/mL for C.glabrata,0.318 μg/mL for C.parapsilosis,0.425 μg/mL for C.tropicalis,1.414 μg/mL for C.krusei.Conclusion Sertaconazole is active against pathogenic Candida spp..
