Abstract:

Objective To investigate pathogenic distribution and resistance of tinea pedis patients in Chongqing. Methods Fungal and bacteria culture were performed in 135 tinea pedis patients whose diagnosis were clinically and laboratory confirmed. VITEK2 system was used for bacteria identification and antibiotic resistance analysis. Results Fungal strains including 126 strains of Trichophyton rubrum,1 strains of Microsporum gypseum and 1 strains of Candida albicans were isolated. There were also 147 positive results of bacteria culture in 129 patients. Of the bacteria strains,25 strains were Staphylococcus aureus (SA),114 strains were coagulase negative Staphylococci (CoNS). 76.60% of 94 strains were resistant to one kind of antibiotics at any rate. Conclusion The main pathogenic fungi of tinea pedis patients in Chongqing was Trichophyton rubrum. There were also high isolated rates of SA and CoNS. More attention should be paid to the simultaneously isolated bacteria with antibiotic resistance in clinical treatment.
