Clinical analysis of fungal infection in peritoneal dialysis patients

Abstract:

Objective Peritonitis is one of the most serious complications of peritoneal dialysis. This study analysis the clinical datas of peritoneal dialysis patients with fungal infection, thus reducing the probability of infection and accumulating experience for future treatment. Methods A retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 58 patients treated with peritoneal dialysis was carried out to compare the relationship between peritoneal dialysis and fungal infection and the treatment after infection. Results Among the 58 patients treated by peritoneal dialysis, 5 cases had fungal infection, and the infection rate was 8.6%. The therapeutic effect is ideal. Conclusion Fungal infection is one of the most serious complications of peritoneal dialysis patients. Early diagnosis and timely antifungal treatment is important to control the infection. It is particularly important to decide whether to remove the peritoneal dialysis catheter early.
