Abstract:

Candida albicans was regarded as a commensal within the gut in humans and the gut had been considered as an important site for Candida albicans invasive infection.Antibiotic(s)-treated mice orally given Candida albicans could closely mimic the clinical manifestations, including gastrointestinal colonization and invasive infection.Immunosuppressants were required for the worse invasive infection. There we summarized the progress on the models of Candida albicans colonization and/or invasive infection in the gastrointestinal tract from related literatures since 2000.

Key words: Candida albicans, colonization, invasive infection
