Abstract: Objective To investigate the phenotype switching of Candida parapsilosis on different medium and the effect of temperature. Methods Nine isolates of C.parapsilosis collected from the skin of healthy people and clinic patients were vauinated on modified Lee’s medium and YPD medium supplemented with phloxine B.Phenotype switching and the effect of different temperature were studied. Results High-frequency phenotypic switching and white opaque switch of C.parapsilosis were observed on both Lee’s medium and YPD medium supplemented with phloxine B.The proportion of opaque colony under 37℃ was lower than that under 25℃ on Lee’s medium. Conclusions C.parapsilosis is capable of high-frequency phenotypic switching and white-opaque transition with stable smooth form at 37℃.
