Abstract: Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of itraconazole capsule in combination with 1% butenafine hydrochloride of cream and ketoconazole lotion in the treatment of pityriasis versicolor.Methods Patients in two groups were administered with itraconazole(0.2 g,once daily)for 7 days and butenafine cream(once daily)for 2 weeks.Baths with ketoconazole lotion(twice one week)was administered only to the test group for 3 months.Clinical efficacy was evaluated after 1,3,6,12 months.Results The cure rate of test group(114 patients)after 3 months and 6 months were 78.1% and 90.4% respectively,while 72.8% and 75.2% in the control group(125 patients).The relapse rate of test group and control group were 1.8% and 18.4% respectively.Conclusions Itraconazole in combination with butenafine cream and ketoconazole lotion is effective in the treatment of pityriasis versicolor and reducing the long-term relapse rate without obvious adverse effects.
